In this presentation, Craig Hobbs of InfluxData will demonstrate how to collect and process data streams of millions of metrics per second using an OPC-UA server and automate that data flow into an InfluxDB time series data platform using NiFi. Once in InfluxDB, you can transform, enrich, analyze, visualize, and alert on that data. Learn how to setup workflow to gain a highly available, fast, scalable, and reliable data stream as a real-world application.
Craig Hobbs is a Solutions Engineer at InfluxData. His experience with keeping systems performant over the years has helped to shape the kind of Sales Engineer he is today — one who enjoys solving complex problems and keeping sales people honest. His specialties include: Solution Architect, Project Management, POC Design and Development, Software Customization, Technical Training, ETL Automation, Application Integration and Deployment. Craig has a BS from the University of Illinois.
Mark Hoske has been Control Engineering editor/content manager since 1994 and in a leadership role since 1999, covering all major areas: control systems, networking and information systems, control equipment and energy, and system integration, everything that comprises or facilitates the control loop. He has been writing about technology since 1987, writing professionally since 1982, and has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism degree from UW-Madison (go Badgers).
