DataCentred built their cloud services on OpenStack to help their customers create web-native applications that are easily portable and interoperable between public and private OpenStack platforms. To provide a high level of service quality, they chose open source software to actively monitor the performance of their services. Previously, they used Graphite, collectd and Grafana as their performance monitoring solution however, the pain of scaling this solution led them to evaluate other options. They discovered InfluxData, and after some testing, found that InfluxDB won out based on its features, performance, ease of deployment and technical roadmap.
