Will this work with my current Telegraf agents?

Do I need to uninstall or reconfigure anything to try it?

No. It deploys as a standalone single binary with no external dependencies and runs alongside your existing infrastructure.

Is this a SaaS product?

No. Telegraf Controller is self-hosted. It is not a cloud-managed or SaaS offering.

What happens if the Controller goes offline?

Nothing to your data collection. The Controller isn't in the data path — your agents keep collecting and sending data on their existing configuration during a Controller outage.

Can it run air-gapped?

Does Telegraf Controller or Telegraf Enterprise require InfluxDB?

No. Telegraf Controller or Telegraf Enterprise manages your Telegraf agent fleet, regardless of where the data is going. It works with any of the 400+ output backends Telegraf supports, including Prometheus, Datadog, Elasticsearch, ClickHouse, and more.

What's the difference between the free tier and Enterprise?

The free tier is full-featured up to 100 agents and 20 configurations. Enterprise removes those limits and adds audit logging, LDAP/OIDC identity management, and Premium Tech Support.
