Onefootball was looking for a replacement to their costly infrastructure DevOps monitoring solution. Their main requirement was to have a system that could combine infrastructure metrics with application-based metrics from their backend services. They set up Telegraf for collecting the metrics of their infrastructure into InfluxDB. As Telegraf additionally provides the StatsD input, they also used it for application-level metrics. So, with a single data collector, they had all their requirements covered with the combination of Telegraf and InfluxDB. This choice allowed Onefootball to effectively monitor their constantly changing cloud infrastructure via graphs and dashboards, in real time.
