Digital Badge Frequently Asked Questions

Through our partnership with Credly, InfluxData is offering digital credentials for community members and partners. These digital badges can be shared on their social networks, resumes, websites or email. Below are a few of the most common questions about this program.

FAQ about the program

I got an email from Credly about earning a digital badge from InfluxData — what do I do next?

Once InfluxData issues your badge, you will receive an email inviting you to accept your badge from Credly, our badging partner. You will need to create a Credly account to accept your badge. This account will manage and store your entire portfolio of badges from any issuer using Credly. Once you have accepted your badge, you can choose to share it with your network via email or social accounts.

Why don’t all InfluxDB University courses award digital badges?

You can earn digital badges on all 100-, 200-, and 300-level InfluxDB courses that you complete with a passing score. Courses that start with “x” or “0” do not award badges because they are for informational purposes and do not include assessments to validate your knowledge.

How can I claim my badge with a different email address?

If you were sent a badge to your work email address but would rather claim it with your personal email address, first accept the badge under your work email. Then update your primary email address to your personal email within your Credly account. The badge will still be associated with your account, but you will be able to log into Credly using your personal email address.

Do I have to share my badge?

While we encourage you to share your accomplishment, it is entirely up to you. You can always include a link to your badge profile or email it if you’d like to share it privately.
